About
Nikolai E Maltsev received a master’s degree in physics and a Ph.D. degree in theoretical and mathematical physics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, Russia, in 1968 and 1971, respectively, and the Dr. Sci. degree in theoretical and mathematical physics from the Acoustical Institute, Moscow, in 1985. From 1970 to 1989, he was a Junior and Senior Research Scientist, Head of the Laboratory of the Acoustical Institute, Moscow. He also
had 1-year course, “Numerical methods for the sound field in the ocean,” and became a full Professor of Physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. In 1988 he joined the Institute of Oceanology, Vladivostok , as a Senior Research Scientist. In 1992 he moved to Canada, where he worked as Senior Analyst in Instrumar LTD. In 2000 he moved to the US, where he worked in several Hi-Tech companies. His research interests include wave propagation, ocean acoustics, and linear and nonlinear wave propagation theory.
